Jack's Life

Jack “John” Conway Bryan, 87, passed away in Kennewick, Washington, on Thursday November 11, 2010. He was born in Birmingham, England, on March 9th, 1923, to Charlie and Gladys Bryan. Jack meet and married the love of his life, Margaret, in 1949. They moved across the pond to Canada in 1952. While in Canada, Jack and Margaret had three children. In 1960 Jack got the wandering bug again, packed up his family in a station wagon, drove to the United States, and settled in California. Jack and his family lived in many cities in California including Torrance, Hawthorne, and Simi Valley. While living in Simi Valley, their fourth child was born. After a series of injuries, Jack retired (1982) from his job at Continental Airlines where he was an aircraft mechanic for many years. They retired in Prescott, Arizona, where they lived for over 23 years and made many wonderful friends. Jack would always say the happiest time of his life was spent in Prescott in his mountain top home He found peace and tranquility there, but also loved to entertain friends. In 2001, harsh winters forced Jack and Margaret into town where he met neighbors and long time friends Joe and Judy Weber. Due to health reasons Jack and Margaret moved to Kennewick, Washington in 2005 to be closer to their two daughters and granddaughter. Jack was a self taught man learning masonry, carpentry, and mechanics where he put it too good use in his many homes. He had a passion for gardening and always had spacious flower gardens wherever he lived. Jack would drop off flowers to his many friends’ homes just to let them know he was thinking of them. He was a kind and generous man, his friends were like family and he was always ready to help when needed. He was married to his best friend, Margaret, for 61 years. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grand children. He is survived by wife, Margaret Bryan of Kennewick; daughters Karan Morse (husband Charlie) of Weiser ID and Susan Cabrey (husband David) of Kennewick WA; sons Stephen Bryan (wife Annette) of Simi Valley, CA, and Christopher Bryan (wife Denise) of Tucson, AZ; Sister Eileen Moore in England; Jack has Sister-in-laws in Canada and England. Jack had 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
